PORTLAND, ME – July, 2024 – Orange Bike Brewing Company (OBB) is proud to host a
two-day public event on July 19-20, 2024, featuring the Maine premiere of the award-winning
documentary ‘One Pint at a Time.’ In partnership with The Third Place, Black Travel Maine, and
Toad & Co, the event will benefit the National Black Brewers Association (NB2A), a non-profit
organization dedicated to increasing the number of Black-owned breweries in the United States.
Despite Maine hosting 165 breweries, none are Black or Brown-owned. Nationally, less than 1%
of the 10,000 breweries are Black-owned. The NB2A aims to address these disparities and
promote a more inclusive craft beer industry.

Tom Ruff, founder and CEO of Orange Bike, states, “These statistics are alarming. With Maine
having the second-most breweries per capita, we have a unique opportunity to set an example
for other states. This event is just the beginning.”

Join us on Friday, July 19 from 6-8pm at Orange Bike Brewing Co. for an exciting “bottle share”
mixer. Bring and share your favorite beers or beverages (including non-alcoholic options), and
connect with members of the NB2A Board of Directors and creators of “One Pint at a Time”.
This evening is all about good vibes and great brews. Let’s celebrate and support increasing
inclusion in Maine’s craft beer community!

On Saturday, July 20th at 3pm, make sure to catch the Maine premiere of “One Pint at a Time” at
Toad & Co. This is the first documentary in history to dive into the Black experience in American
craft beer. This captivating film sparked the creation of the NB2A, and this is your chance to see
why! Stick around after the screening for a lively Q&A session with the filmmakers and the NB2A
board. To read more about our featured guests and to watch the film’s trailer, visit our event
page. Tickets can be purchased and/or donations made via our GiveButter page. Together, we
can brew a more inclusive future for beermakers in Maine and beyond!
