PR / SAN DIEGO, CA (April, 2026): Pure Project debuts a new core beer that deepens the connection between its ingredient-driven craft and its dedication to environmental stewardship. Rewild, a crisp West Coast pale ale brewed with Citra and Centennial hops, supports regenerative tree-planting initiatives to help rewild natural habitats.
Through Pure Project’s commitment to 1% for the Planet, Rewild will support international conservation organization WILDCOAST and its mangrove forest restoration efforts in Mexico, home to the fourth-largest mangrove area in the world.
Mangrove forests are among the planet’s most remarkable carbon-sequestering ecosystems. They capture carbon up to five times more effectively than rainforests, serve as a vital breeding habitat for numerous wildlife and marine species, and help shield coastal communities from storms. Despite their ecological importance, mangrove forests are declining rapidly due to coastal development, rising sea levels, and pollution.
“Mangrove forests are one of the most powerful natural climate solutions on the planet,” said WILDCOAST Executive Director and Co-founder, Serge Dedina, Ph.D. “Our partnership with Pure Project, especially through a dedicated beer like Rewild, provides the crucial support needed to scale up our restoration efforts, engage local communities, and put more trees in the ground. Together, we are creating a tangible, measurable impact on these globally significant ecosystems.”
WILDCOAST’s impact in Mexico is significant and growing. In partnership with Mexico’s National
Commission for Natural Protected Areas, the organization has planted more than 292,500 mangroves to date, directly engaging local communities, creating jobs, and sequestering over 100,000 tons of carbon. That momentum continues with plans to plant an additional 35,000 seedlings along the coasts of Baja California Sur and Oaxaca in 2026.
“When it came to finding the right partner for Rewild, the answer was clear,” said Mat Robar, Co-founder of Pure Project. “WILDCOAST has been doing critical, on-the-ground conservation work for decades, and their ongoing efforts to actively rewild and restore Mexico’s mangrove forests represent the kind of meaningful impact we wanted this beer to stand behind.”
Rewild marks the first expansion of the brewery’s core lineup since 2023, joining Diamond Dust (hazy IPA), Pure West (West Coast IPA), Tropical Mist (citrus blonde ale), and Rain (pilsner). Pouring a radiant golden color, Rewild delivers bright notes of citrus and pine to the palate, while refined bitterness from Pacific Northwest hops carries through to a crisp, dry finish.
Rewild is now available on draft and in 4-packs to go at all five Pure Project taprooms throughout
San Diego County and at select retailers. Follow Pure Project on Instagram for specialty release dates, event information, and more at @purebrewing. To find Pure Project beer near you, visit https://www.purebrewing.org/beer-locator/.
